Out

Between the walls of academic corridors and in the neon lights of the night city, he – an introvert, pretentious artist, self-proclaimed genius – seeks his place. Raised in the province, with a head full of theory and a distaste for conformity, he falls into the heart of the queer bohemia to which (at least on paper) he belongs, but with which he wants nothing to do. The university doesn’t meet his sophisticated expectations, the community doesn’t fit his idealised vision of rebellion, and the art that was supposed to be his salvation begins to devour him.

This is a story about how hard it is to find your own voice when the whole world is screaming – and how easy it is to get lost between who we are and who we want to be. Hypnotic, gnarly and painfully honest – this film is not a manifesto, but a confession of a man on the brink of self-acceptance.
