Eighteen-year-old Wellington is just getting out of juvie – but the world is not awaiting him with open arms. His family disappeared and his house is gone with no trace. All that’s left for him is the street and a pack of queer friends from the House of Close Certo, with whom he vogues on the underground for change while at night, he sneaks into sleazy porn cinema to steal wallets. When he meets Ronaldo, a charismatic and experienced man, he finds himself caught up in a whirlwind of passion, a harsh school of survival and the realities of male sex work. But who’s actually teaching whom here?

‘Baby’ is an unsettling, electrifying journey through the underground world of São Paulo – a story about finding intimacy in insecure places and growing up in a reality where love is mixed with money.
