WILD NIGHTS WITH EMILY

A biographical comedy about one of the greatest American poets Emily Dickinson and her love for Susan Gilbert.
Called the hermit of Amherst, Emily Dickinson did not live alone. Her youth friendship with Susan Gilbert turned into a love affair, and was later tested by Susan’s marriage with Emily’s brother. Hiding her feelings, Emily had to face the prejudices of a men-dominated community of poets and publishers who did not want to publish her poems because of their novelty and the fact that their author was a woman.

The film was presented, among others, at the SXSW Festival and the American Film Festival
